Orpington

What started with only being 1 chicken yard with just 4-5 hens and a rooster – daily eggs, some chickens and a stop of food waste plus a really good compost, has in 2017 expanded to a minor breeding of Orpington in large breed, in mulitple colors for the purpose of shows.

A lot of wonderful meditative hours with the hens has been used, and they now have 3 yards and are colorseperated. I am a member of DFfR, the Orpington club and my local poultry club. Homebred, slaughtered chicken tastes well. Egg from your own ecofarm is superior.

There is nothing bad to say about having hens. I can really recommend it. Hens are useful and cosy.
